Description
Oreganum vulgare
Aromatic culinary perennial that likes a well drained soil and sunny spot in the garden. Grows up to 1m when in full pinky white flower in summer.
Where foods and herbs meet! Medicinally is re-known for it's antimicrobial and anti-fungal activity that support the digestive system, and also traditionally used for treating colds and flu.
I use it fresh in sauces, stews, roast veg, salads and it can also be dried to use in the winter in cooking or tea. Or make your own zaatar spice blend with it!
